About us

Demetra is a working farm set within 12 hectares of private ground, including 2 hectares of forest and 10 of cultivable soil where everything is grown according to organic methods. On the farm we grow vegetables, grapes, cereals (spelt, common and durum wheat), legumes (chick peas, cicerchia, lentils), and we also have fruit trees and olive trees. Our produce is either sold on the local market, or used for home baking, be it bread or cakes (have a look at our mill).

We have a variety of animals, including sheep, ducks, hens, and one donkey. We also keep a few bee-hives where all our honey is produced. School children are welcome on the farm, where activities can be organized for them all year round.
